A Tradovate to Tradovate trade copier lets you trade one futures account and have the same orders placed on your other Tradovate accounts, for example several evaluations or funded accounts at prop firms that run on Tradovate. Heron Copier repeats every entry, exit and bracket change from the master on each slave, in whole contracts.
You connect each account by signing in on Tradovate's own page, so your password is never sent to Heron Copier. You don't need the Tradovate API add-on or a market data subscription, and the same connection covers NinjaTrader Brokerage accounts. Contract symbols are identical on both sides, so ESZ6 on the master is ESZ6 on the slave. Each slave has its own volume sizing, such as a fixed number of contracts or a multiplier of the master's size. Sizes are rounded to the nearest whole contract, and a calculated size below half a contract is skipped, so check the sizing on smaller accounts.
Tradovate accounts run in the Heron Copier cloud only. There is no VPS to rent and nothing to install, and copying continues while your computer is off.
How to set up Tradovate to Tradovate copying
- Add your Tradovate account as the master in the dashboard. Connect it with your Tradovate login on Tradovate's own sign-in page, so your password is never sent to Heron Copier.
- Add your Tradovate account as the slave and pick the master it copies from. Connect it with your Tradovate login on Tradovate's own sign-in page, so your password is never sent to Heron Copier.
- Choose a volume sizing method for each slave, for example a fixed number of contracts or a multiplier of the master's size.
- Launch. Cloud accounts are usually online in under 60 seconds, and the dashboard shows every copied trade, balance and position live.

Things to check before you start
- Turn on Position Resync if you want the Tradovate slave to check that every copied position is still open on the master.
- NinjaTrader 8 desktop accounts that connect through Rithmic or CQG are not covered by the Tradovate connection. Connect those through Rithmic instead.
- Auto symbol mapping, additional TP/SL in pips and TP/SL offsets are not available on Tradovate and Rithmic slaves.
Frequently asked questions
Can one Tradovate master copy to several Tradovate accounts?
Yes. Add as many Tradovate slaves as you need, each with its own volume sizing, symbol mapping and risk limits. In the cloud every account uses one cloud seat.
Can the Tradovate accounts be at different prop firms?
Yes. The master and the slaves only need to be Tradovate accounts that Heron Copier can log in to. Each slave keeps its own sizing and its own balance and equity protection thresholds.
What happens if a trade fails to copy?
Turn on failed trade copy notifications to get an e-mail alert. The account logs in the dashboard also show the reason, for example a symbol that doesn't exist on the slave or a size below the minimum.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, 7 days with 2 cloud accounts. During the trial a futures slave copies every trade at a fixed 1 contract; a paid license unlocks the other sizing methods.
